Brainerd Institute started as one room and grew into a multi-building facility fostering a rigorous educational environment that included all grades through high school and eventually a Jr. College that focused on teacher training. Today Kumler Hall is the only building that remains on the beautiful rolling estates in Chester, South Carolina. In order for Brainerd Institute Heritage to offer the needed year-round educational and artistic programming needed to help transform the community, Kumler Hall must be fully restored.
